GCB German Convention Bureau

The German Convention Bureau (GCB) represents and markets Germany as a leading convention and meeting destination. The GCB provides information on Germany as a key destination for conferences with a focus on sustainability, local expertise and clusters of excellence, as well as trends and innovations.

A network of competent partners

The German Convention Bureau is the umbrella organisation that unites leading national suppliers. Our network unites around 450 suppliers within the German meetings and conventions industry – from leading hotels and convention centres to destinations, event agencies and service providers.

Our strategic partners, Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Deutsche Bahn AG, and the German National Tourist Board (GNTB), support the work of the GCB.

We offer the following specific services:

  • Independent advice when selecting a destination for your event
  • Information about key industry sectors in Germany to form a thematic link between the special interests of your sector and the event destination
  • Assistance in finding competent service providers who match the requirements of your events
  • Educational trips and site inspections
  • Information on Green Meetings

3 things you need to know about Germany

  • Germany is easy to get to. With many airline connections and a flight time between 1 and 2 hours from London, Germany is very accessible from the UK.
  • Germany offers excellent value for money combined with a high level of service. Rates are competitive compared to other European destinations.
  • German expertise. As Europe’s largest economy, Germany is a leading location for research and development and offers know-how and expertise in key areas of business and science. Germany has been ranked number one in the European ICCA statistics ranking for many years in a row, and comes globally on the second place only behind the US.
